Illinois became the twenty first state on December 3, 1818. Illinois is home to the third largest city in the United States, Chicago. The rich farmland in the state attracted many farmers including German and Swedish immigrant farmers. Although the state is the heart of the midwest, the central and southern portions of the state were settled by settlers from the southern states of Kentucky and Tennessee. I am located in Cook County an very close to Dupage County. I am available to provide research for Cook, DuPage, and parts of Will and Kane Counties in Illinois. For clients whose ancestors lived in Chicago or it's many suburbs there are a multitude of possible records and resources available to research. Many of these records and resources are not available online. Because there are so many facilities and historical societies in these counties, I cannot list them all here. Because I make frequent trips to central Illinois, I may also be available for research in Vermilion, Iroquois or Ford Counties upon request.
